全面を金梨子地塗とし、渋い色調の茶漆に金粉蒔絵で安芸国宮島を描いた刀掛。宮島は古くから瀬戸内海の交通の要所であり、平清盛に庇護されたことで発展した。表には海中に立つ鳥居と岸辺の灯籠、背景に老松。裏面と台座に千鳥を配して海辺の風情を高めている。

The entire surface of this sword rack is lacquered with kinashiji lacquer, and Miyajima, Aki Province, is depicted in dark brown lacquer with gold powder lacquer. Miyajima has long been a key transportation point in the Seto Inland Sea, and developed under the patronage of Taira no Kiyomori. On the front is a torii gate standing in the sea, a lantern on the shore, and an old pine tree in the background. A plover pattern is placed on the back and the pedestal to enhance the seaside atmosphere.
