One of the finest castle in Sengoku period, Takatenjin castle was built on precipious cliff of Mt. Kakujo,
 It has very rich view.
 It was touted as "Whoever gets Takatanjin gets Totoumi area".

Takatenjin castle was built by Matsui Muneyoshi, who was ordered his load Imagawa Ujichika.
 

今川氏衰亡後、その名城を巡って徳川家康と武田信玄、勝頼といった戦国の名だたる武将たちが幾度となく攻防を繰り広げた。

After the fall of the Imagawa clan, many battles occured scramble for the fine castle between Tokugawa Ieyasu and the (elder and junior) Takedas (Shingen and his son Katsuyori).
